Minutes of the November 2008 ExEC meeting
held at
The Marriot Hotel, Leicester 11th November 2008.
- Present: Terry Emmony Phil Jones Gordon Moore
- Apologies: Julian Kern Gordon Moore Cynthia Brooke Mike Arkless Julie Grundy Ann Nurse Peter Sweeney Debbie McDonnell Andrew Smillie Dan Robson Di Gluchowski
- Latest News Unit value of portfolio has fallen over the summer with the global crisis, and we are now at 78.2p partially helped by the £3,937 that has been collected in cash and not invested.
- Sales No sales this month.
- Investments We wondered whether now might be a good time to start buying again, singling out our undervalued or very cheap companies for top ups.. We suggest we put £500 (or maybe more) into each of some of the following companies: Tesco, Centrica, National Grid, Marks & Spencer or Premier Food.
I need your opinions as to which, how many companies and how much you want to invest. Please forward your votes to Terry as I'll be away for a few days.
- Yesterday I received papers for a rights issue in RBS. We hold 854 shares and we are now entitled to buy 18 new shares at 65.5p for every 13 we already own. This would take £775 if we said yes.
I need your votes to be with Terry by Tuesday 18th November for him to send the papers.
- Next Meeting The next meeting will be January and we were thinking of an away few days / weekend in late January.
Please let me know whether you're interested, when and where and I'll get some ideas together.
Phil
